Terms of Service

What you are buying, what it can and cannot do for you, and what happens if something goes wrong. Section 3 is the one that matters most — please read it before you pay for anything.

Effective July 29, 2026

1.Agreement

By using canadamedpathways.ca or anything delivered through it (the “Services”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Services.

MedPathways is operated by Canada's Sunshine Inc. (Business Number 735974735), a Canadian corporation based in Richmond Hill, Ontario. These Terms incorporate our Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services.

2.What we provide

  • A free eligibility check. A short set of questions that tells you whether the pathways we cover are relevant to your file. If they are not, we say so and point you elsewhere, at no charge.
  • A pathway assessment ($29.99). A written analysis of your own situation: which routes to Canadian practice fit your training, in what order, what stands in the way, and what to do next. Part of it — your situation summary, the number of routes found, and your single biggest obstacle — is shown to you before you are asked to pay.
  • A 45-minute consultation ($349.00). A video call with our clinical advisor, Dr. Haroon Yousuf, to work through your file. If you have already paid for an assessment, that fee is credited, bringing the amount due to $319.00.

We may change, improve or discontinue features. We will not remove something central to a purchase you have already made.

3.What we are not

MedPathways provides pathway and process guidance. Nothing more.

Nothing we produce is medical advice, legal advice, immigration advice or regulatory advice. We do not represent you before any body, and we cannot act on your behalf.

Licensure decisions are made solely by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the College of Family Physicians of Canada, the Medical Council of Canada and the individual provincial and territorial Colleges. We have no relationship with them, no influence over them, and no ability to expedite, guarantee or predict what they will decide about you.

Nothing on this site is a guarantee of licensure, registration, employment, a training position or immigration status. Two physicians with materially identical files can and do receive different outcomes.

Consultations are not medical care

Dr. Haroon Yousuf is a licensed Ontario physician, and a consultation is a professional conversation about your career and your licensure pathway. It is not a clinical encounter. No physician–patient relationship is created, no diagnosis or treatment is provided, no medical record is opened, and nothing said is covered by OHIP or any insurer. If you need medical care, see a physician in your own jurisdiction.

We do not advise on immigration

Under section 91 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, only lawyers, Quebec notaries and consultants licensed by the CICC may advise or represent someone on an immigration matter for a fee. We are none of those. We may offer to introduce you to a licensed Canadian immigration lawyer if you ask us to. That introduction is not advice, not an application, and creates no solicitor–client relationship with us.

Verify everything time-sensitive

Requirements, fees, deadlines and eligibility criteria change without notice and differ by province. Our assessments describe timing qualitatively and tell you who holds the authoritative dates — deliberately, because publishing a specific date we cannot stand behind is worse than publishing none. Always confirm with the relevant College or body before you rely on anything.

Our advisor’s other roles

Dr. Haroon Yousuf directs the McMaster Hospitalist Fellowship. Where an assessment mentions fellowship routes it is describing a general pathway, not offering or recommending a place in any specific programme. MedPathways is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for McMaster University, Hamilton Health Sciences, the Ontario Medical Association, the Royal College or any College.

4.AI-generated content

Your assessment is produced by an AI system working from a rules framework built by our clinical advisor, using the answers and materials you provide. You should understand what that means:

  • It reflects the information you gave us. Incomplete or inaccurate input produces an incorrect assessment, and we have no way to detect that.
  • It is not reviewed by a person before you receive it. Human review is what the consultation is for.
  • AI systems can be wrong, including confidently wrong. Treat the output as a well-informed starting point for your own research, not as a determination.
  • Anything we extract from your documents is treated as reported by you, never as verified. Credential verification runs through the Medical Council of Canada and we play no part in it.

You are responsible for verifying anything you intend to act on. We are not liable for decisions you make on the basis of AI-generated content — including applications you file, fees you pay, positions you decline, or moves you make.

5.Your information and your account

There are no accounts and no passwords. Your assessment is linked to a random token stored in your browser. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, contact care@canadamedpathways.ca and we will help you retrieve it.

You confirm that the information you give us is accurate and that you have the right to share any document you upload. Uploads are optional, require explicit consent, and are never retained — see section 4 of the Privacy Policy.

You retain ownership of everything you submit. You grant us a limited licence to process it solely to deliver the Services to you.

6.Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Submit false, forged or altered credentials, or information about anyone other than yourself.
  • Resell, redistribute or publish your assessment as though it were general guidance. It is written for one file — yours — and is wrong for almost everyone else.
  • Scrape, crawl or use automated tools to extract content from the Services.
  • Reverse engineer the Services or attempt to extract the underlying prompts, rules or model behaviour.
  • Attempt to access another person’s assessment, booking or record.
  • Interfere with the security, integrity or availability of the Services.
  • Use the Services to hold yourself out as qualified, licensed or eligible when you are not.

We may suspend or terminate access for a breach of this section. Where a breach involves falsified credentials, we may retain records and cooperate with the relevant College or law enforcement.

7.Pricing and payment

Pathway assessment
$29.99 CAD. Charged after your assessment has been generated and part of it shown to you.
Consultation
$349.00 CAD for 45 minutes, paid in full at booking. If you have already paid for an assessment, $29.99 is credited and you pay $319.00.
Currency
All prices are in Canadian dollars.
Taxes
Applicable Canadian taxes are added at checkout where required and shown before you confirm.
Payment
Handled by Stripe on their own hosted checkout page. Your card details never reach our servers.
Foreign cards
Your bank may apply its own conversion rate and a foreign-transaction fee. Those are between you and your bank.
Recurring charges
None. Both products are one-time purchases. Nothing renews and nothing is stored to charge you later.

We may change prices at any time. A change never affects a purchase you have already completed.

8.Refunds and cancellation

Pathway assessment

Non-refundable once generated. Your assessment is produced for your file the moment you pay and is delivered immediately, so it cannot be returned. You see your situation summary and your main obstacle before you are asked for anything, which is deliberate — you should know what you are buying first.

45-minute consultation

Full refund if you cancel at least 5 full days before your booked time. Inside that window the slot is usually impossible to fill, so cancellations and missed sessions are not refunded. You can reschedule free of charge any time before the deadline.

Specific situations

We cancel or reschedule on you
Full refund, or a new time at your choice — whichever you prefer. This applies however close to the session it happens.
Your assessment was not personalised
If a technical fault meant you received our generic guidance rather than an assessment of your own file, we refund it in full. Email us and we will check the record rather than asking you to prove it.
You do not attend
Not refunded. The time was held for you and the advisor was there. If something genuinely went wrong, tell us — we would rather hear it.
You paid in a currency other than Canadian dollars
Refunds are issued in the currency you were charged. Exchange rates move, so the amount your bank credits back may differ slightly from what left your account. That difference is the bank’s, not ours.

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Stripe typically returns funds within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. Refund requests go to care@canadamedpathways.ca.

Your rights under Ontario consumer protection law

Because both products are purchased online for more than $50, each is an “internet agreement” under Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, 2002. Before you pay, we are required to disclose who we are, what you are buying, the total price, the payment terms, when it will be delivered, and this refund policy — and to send you a copy of the agreement afterwards.

If we failed to make those disclosures before you entered the agreement, the Act gives you seven days to cancel from the day you receive a copy of it. If we never sent you a copy, you have thirty days from the date of the agreement. These rights sit on top of the policy above, and nothing in these Terms limits them.

The Act also implies a warranty that services are of reasonably acceptable quality. That warranty cannot be waived, and we do not attempt to waive it.

9.Consultations

  • Booking. Times are offered in your own time zone. Your booking is confirmed only once payment succeeds — an unconfirmed slot is not held.
  • Rescheduling. Free, any number of times, up to 5 full days before your session.
  • Lateness. The session ends at its scheduled time. Arriving late shortens it; it does not extend it.
  • Non-attendance. Not refunded. The time was held and the advisor prepared for it.
  • If we cancel. Full refund or a new time, whichever you prefer, however close to the session it happens.
  • Technology. Sessions run over Google Meet. We are not responsible for failures of your own internet connection or device, but if a technical problem on our side prevents the session, we will rebook or refund it.

Recording

Consultations are not recorded by default. A recording will be made only where everyone on the call has agreed to it at the start of the session, whether the request comes from you or from us. If you would like a recording, ask at the beginning — asking afterwards is too late, because there is nothing to produce.

Where a recording is made, it is kept for up to 24 months, is accessible only to you and to the MedPathways team, and is never shared with anyone else or used for marketing. You may ask us to delete it at any time. Our advisor may also keep brief written notes to prepare for or follow up on your session; these are held under the same terms as the rest of your record and are not clinical records.

You may not record a session yourself without our agreement, and you may not publish or distribute any recording of one.

10.Intellectual property

The MedPathways platform — its design, code, interface, assessment framework, prompts, written content, logo and name — belongs to Canada's Sunshine Inc.. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from it without written permission.

Your own assessment is yours to keep and use for your own purposes. That does not extend to republishing it or the framework behind it.

11.Disclaimers and limits on liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot lawfully be excluded.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost income, lost opportunity or wasted expenditure arising from your use of the Services.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of (a) CAD $100, or (b) the total you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not responsible for outcomes determined by third parties — a College’s decision, an employer’s decision, an immigration outcome, or an examination result — nor for decisions you make on the basis of our guidance.

What these limits do not cover

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Canadian law, including under Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, 2002, or liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If any part of this section is unenforceable against you as a consumer, the rest still applies.

12.Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Canada's Sunshine Inc. and its officers, directors and advisors against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these Terms, from information or documents you submitted that you had no right to submit, or from your use of the Services in a way these Terms prohibit.

13.Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Services at any time and ask us to erase your record — see section 10 of the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate access where these Terms are breached, with notice where practicable and immediately where a breach involves falsified credentials, fraud, or a threat to the Services or to another person. Sections 3, 4, 6, 10, 11, 12 and 14 survive termination.

14.Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.

If you are a consumer resident outside Canada, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer laws in your own country of residence.

15.Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Where a change is material and we have your email address, we will tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect. A change never applies retroactively to a purchase you have already made. The current version is always at canadamedpathways.ca/terms, dated July 29, 2026.

16.General

  • These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us regarding the Services.
  • If any provision is found unenforceable, it is narrowed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest remains in force.
  • Not enforcing a provision on one occasion does not waive it.
  • You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
  • Nothing here creates a partnership, agency or employment relationship.
  • These Terms are drafted in English at the express request of the parties. Les parties ont expressément exigé que les présentes conditions soient rédigées en anglais.
